Friends of Troy Person Accessibility Statement

Friends of Troy Person is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all. Following reports that none of the 2020 presidential candidates’ websites were accessible, our team began a wholesale audit and redesign of www.votetroy.org to ensure it was truly reflective of the inclusivity of this campaign, culminating with a new website launch on September 12, 2019.

During our redesign, the following technical measures were taken to strive to reach conformity with the WCAG 2.1 AA standard:

  • full keyboard navigation support

  • screen reader compatibility

  • reorganization of content for ease of navigation

  • relevant alternate text added to all images and logos

  • accessible video players complete with captions in both English and Spanish

  • extensive testing with accessibility tools

While our efforts to fully conform to the WCAG 2.1 AA standard on all of our web properties are ongoing, please let us know if you encounter any accessibility barriers by emailing info@votetroy.org. We as a nation must recommit to championing the rights of people with disabilities, and we have a moral responsibility to ensure that all people with disabilities have their rights protected, including the right to an accessible internet.
